Credentials

Neva Bryan is the founder and owner of Tasty Toes Creative Solutions.

Neva earned her B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and her M.A. in Professional Writing from Chatham University, Pittsburgh.

Early in her career, she worked as an advertising editor and op-ed columnist for two small newspapers. Neva also enjoyed a brief stint as a movie critic for an independent radio station.

She won several awards for diversity in action and community achievement during her telecom career, where she founded a women-working-in-telecom affinity group and served as its first president.

Following her time in the telecom industry, Neva entered public relations and marketing. As a project manager with a corporate agency, she served clients in the following sectors: banking, insurance, law, long-term care, retail, real estate, manufacturing, higher education, municipal public works, public housing and redevelopment, and public libraries.

Neva left the agency to serve as the copywriter for a leading single-source supplier for spa professionals worldwide. Later she moved into the nonprofit world.

Briefly, she assumed the role of executive director and marketing director for a nonprofit consortium of agencies before accepting a position as director of public relations for an area agency on aging. During her time with this nonprofit organization, she received a Compass Rose Award for Communicating with Creativity.

Neva became the education coordinator for an artisan network. During that time, she traveled across a 19-county region, training creatives to market and price their works.

Today Neva is employed at a small liberal arts college. Her department is part of an economic development and strategic initiatives office, where she works with team members focused on entrepreneurship, community development, public health, and technology.

She has written several grants in her higher education role. She also serves on the college’s crisis communication team, strategic planning and implementation committee, a regional workforce development board, and a regional career council. She produces a career podcast.

Neva has served on the marketing committee for a state career services organization, creating the conference logo and designing and editing the newsletter.

The long-time communications chair for a local Main Street program, Neva was its webmaster. Assisting with her town’s annual festival, she provided community and media outreach to market the event. She helped build her town’s Kiwanis Club and served as its first secretary and webmaster. In 2019 she received an outstanding alumni award from the local Chamber of Commerce’s leadership development program.

Neva is a member of the American Marketing Association and past member of the Public Relations Society of America.

When she’s not working, Neva enjoys reading, kayaking, hiking, and photography. She lives in the mountains of southwestern Virginia with her husband and their dogs.
